Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric "Bulletproof" Latte
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon fresh root turmeric, grated (or 2tsp powdered organic turmeric)
- 6 ounces filtered (preferably alkaline) water
- 6 ounces coconut milk
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon grass-fed butter*
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or MCT oil*
- Pinch of stevia to taste (optional)
Instructions
Grate the turmeric into a pan with the water, coconut milk, garam masala, and cinnamon. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
Pour the contents of the pan into a blender (straining out the turmeric bits if you like, up to you). Add the butter and oil and blend at high speed until foamy and creamy! Add a pinch of stevia, if desired, to taste.
*If you don't want to use butter, you can use 2tbsp of coconut or MCT oil.
And if you're allergic to coconut, you can use the MCT oil which I find most people can tolerate, and if you find this level of fat in the drink a bit hard on your digestive system, you can scale it down for a week and then increase it a bit at a time.
You will LOVE how this drink makes you feel. Have it first thing in the morning, before breakfast, and you'll see how full and sustained you feel for hours after, and how energized it makes you too!
